It’s Time to Think Bigger as a Seller
Here are four great tips to help sellers prepare their house for sale.
It’s time to think big when selling your home. Your house may be exceptional, but you live one way and you sell another way. Buyers will have one of two mindsets when viewing your home. The first mindset belongs to those who will try to find every possible issue with your house in an attempt to decrease your price and get a deal. The second mindset is more or less like this: “Let me run and get my toothbrush. I want to move in. I love this house.”
Here are four tips to attract as many buyers as possible with mindset No. 2 and get top dollar for your property in the shortest amount of time:
1. Home inspection and repairs. Get a home inspection and make as many repairs as possible. This will give you an edge in the current market. Buyers don’t want to make an array of repairs—they want to buy a home that feels like new.
2. Curb appeal. Make the best first impression you can. Ensure the mailbox is new, the doorbell works, and have a nice welcome mat on the front step.
Make the best first impression you can.
3. Neutral colors. Fill your house with neutral colors because paint goes a long way.
4. Freshen up. If you have an older kitchen or bathroom, it’s time to update. You don’t need a full remodel, just simple things such as a new backsplash or hardware. If you’re interested in a refresh plan but your money’s tied up, we have a concierge program that will fund the project interest-free.
