Which Renovations Are Worth It?
Are you thinking about selling and doing some renovations? Mr. Licorice and I are here to share the top five remodeling projects that will give you the best return on your investment:
1. Paint. I don’t mean touching up a few spots; I’m talking about painting the entire interior of the house. This will give you the highest return on your investment by far. It can net up to five times what you paid for the paint.
2. Flooring. This one can be tricky. You might have one type of flooring in your kitchen and another in the living room. We want to make sure that the flooring is new, but we also don’t want more than two types of flooring throughout the house.
“If you know something is wrong, fix it.”
3. Curb appeal and landscaping. This can be as simple as painting the front door or putting up a new mailbox. If you have a yard, trim the hedges, put in fresh mulch, paint the fence, etc. You only get one first impression, so curb appeal is super important.
4. Fixtures. This includes both light fixtures and faucets. If you combine new fixtures with fresh paint, your house is going to look like a million bucks.
5. Buyer requested repairs. If you know something is wrong, fix it. If you make all these repairs early, you won’t have to compromise on your sale price.
