Five ways you can still buy a home in this competitive market.

Are you having trouble finding a home? Searching for a home in this market can be challenging. Supply is low, and bidding wars are common. You might have to compete against dozens of other buyers for the same property at a price point you can’t afford. 

Do not lose hope! There are still tons of ways to find and buy your dream home. That’s why Mr. Licorice and I have some tips to help with your home search: 

1. Expand your search area. Branching out a little will open up more inventory to you, and it may even reduce the competition. If your lifestyle allows for it, you can even look at something more rural.

2. Change your ideal property type. If you’re looking for single-family homes, maybe check out condos, townhouses, or duplexes. You might be able to rent out part of these other options to help pay your mortgage.

3. Shop under your budget. Looking for properties way under your budget will let you bid over the competition, secure the property, and still be financially stable.

4. Consider building or renovating. New construction or a fixer-upper might be much better options for you than buying a new home.
